Comments from the Future Leaders Programme
“There was so much to learn! It was
truly a revealing course, about myself, about being a good leader, and
about understanding what makes everyone different and practical ways of
getting along with all kinds of people. It really made me think about
ideas or issues that I usually try to avoid, such as reflecting on what
sort of person I wanted others to see me as, we reflected on aspects of
life and leadership that I would otherwise not even give a second thought
if it had not been for this course and I definitely recommend it to anyone
thinking about taking up a leadership role. It was also a great way
to meet some new people and try new ways of doing things.”
- Jenny Zhang, Carmel College
“Fantastic! Loved it. Much better than I expected, or any of the other courses I have attended. Barry is an amazing person and I would definitely come to another!"
- Esther Kim, Mount Albert Grammar
“I would just like to thank Barry for teaching us all these skills useful for what’s ahead of us, it is a really good course and I did learn a lot. The stuff was interesting and had in depth meaning for us as youngsters but also as young leaders.” - Toia Mackie, Hato Petera
“Thank you so much for running the leadership conference at the beginning of the holidays. I found it very beneficial. I particularly found the talk/discussion about the importance of listening very helpful and also necessary. I was talking with my uncle the other day and he said to me that it is very easy for managers, employers etc, to “bulldoze” their way through the people with their ideas, goals and ambitions, but not actually listen to what others have to say. Your lesson helped me and challenged me to be quicker to listen to people, rather than to tell them what to do, as a leader.”
- Josiah Ploeg, Mt Albert Gramar
“Awesome programme, really helped give me some insight into the more important things in life. Wish it could have been longer! Personality profiling was really cool.”
- Richard Lee, Long Bay College
“This course was really inspiring for me, a lot of advice and tips about how to be successful. I strongly recommend this course to student leaders.” - Tukairangi Maxwell, Hato Petera
“Absolutely loved the course! I discovered so much about myself and who I am and would definitely recommend it to others!” - Bridget Pyc, Carmel College
“I loved the workshop – at first I felt uneasy about the whole leadership thing but it was amazing and I had a great time.” - Moana Apiata, Westlake Girls High School
“Awesome, great experience, eye opening, confirmed some ideas and thoughts I had and helped me to form new ones, also helped me identify what I need to work on to be more successful in life.” - Jane Street, Long Bay College
“Awesome course, worthwhile, learned a lot. Motivated me to change certain parts of my life for the better. Had fun.” - Alexi Petrie, Mount Albert Grammar
